Lore

Long ago, the Druids confided in prayer their sacred charge to the supreme spirits of Nature. The spirits were moved by their plight and answered the Druids' call for help. Over the many years since then, the spirits have contributed in many ways to the Druids' cause, even offering up soldiers to serve in their campaign. A Druid educated in the language of the Natural spirits can appeal to them, and they will provide him with valuable companions. These companions fall into three groups: spirit animals, sentient vines, and minor spirits of Nature.

Summons

Spirits

Only one spirit can be summoned at a time by a Druid. Summoning a new Spirit causes the old one to disappear. Spirits give an "aura" so they will not stack, rather one will override the other. Spirits in Nightmare are immune to Physical and Poison damage. In Normal and Hell they are immune to Poison.

Animals

You can only summon Spirit Wolves, Dire Wolves, or a Grizzly. You can not have all three types out at the same time. You can, however, have a flock of Ravens out at the same time you might have Wolves or a Grizzly out. The three animal summons also synergize one another.

Raven

Level Requirement: 1

Stats

Always costs 6 mana to summon a Raven. When a Raven attacks a target, it has a chance to cast Blind on it.

Notes

Ravens can not be targeted, and are thus immune to all damage. However they have a limited number of "hits" until they disappear on their own.

Notes

Don't let the deceptively low damage deceive. This summon does more damage the more monsters there are in a game, via it's "poison mats" -- it has been known to decimate entire groups of enemies. However, unless one invests heavily in this skill, it will die to often due to low health.

Notes

Everyone's favorite spirit. This orange glowing spirit will increases the Druid and his party's life. However this spirit has a very strange habit of flying straight at powerful enemies and getting itself killed.

Notes

This vine is handy when one is fighting in dangerous areas. If it stays alive, it will "eat" a fallen enemy's corpse using it's life energies to replenish the Druid's health. However, it's low health make it hard to use properly without expending extra skill points to raise it's own health.

This is the second spirit of the three available. However with the the third spirit being mostly useless, the choice becomes does a Druid want more Life, or More Damage? It should be noted that this spirit can stack with other auras, such as Might available from a mercenary.

Notes

Similar to the Carrion Vine, this vine heals a Druid's mana, instead of his health. However when a Mana Potion is as easy to come by as it is in the game, this vine doesn't seem quite as useful.

Notes

This editor has to be honest with you here, this spirit is not worth it at all. Even though it has the most life out of the three, it gives a terrible bonus. The damage returned is simply to low. If one wants to utilize this kind of effect, one can always revert to a mercenary who has the Thorns aura, which returns a lot more damage. On top of that, one can also use another spirit such as the Oak Sage to increase the health of said mercenary.

Notes

This is perhaps the most powerful summon in the game, easily able to reach into the thousands for damage. Though it requires quite an investment to get that powerful, it is still a useful meatshield. Note that this summon has a chance to knockback it's target.
